The garbage disposal rates are set by the City Ordinance. The solid waste collection contractor for the City of Jackson is Waste Management at (731) 423-2532. Waste Management web site link here.
Waste Management 2010 Holiday schedule is as follows:
Holiday Schedule for Waste Management for July 4th. Waste Management will pick up Monday's garbage on Tuesday and Tuesday's garbage on Wednesday. The rest of the week will be on a regular schedule.

East of Campbell to City Limits, south of I-40 to Parkway
East of Highland to Campbell, south of I-40 to Parkway
East of Highland to MCO Rd, north of I-40 to University Parkway
East of Hwy 45 to the City Limits, north of University Parkway to the City Limits
East of Whitehall to the City Limits, south of Parkway to Chester
South of The Fairgrounds Park to the City Limits east of Highland
Leaves need to be bagged in order to be picked up.

The deadline for loose leaf pick up is March 15. After the deadline, only bagged leaves will be collected.
